One Gasket Doesn't Fit Every Gun: Tapp's Multiple Height Gaskets

The gasket on top of a Tapp HPA adapter is where air passes into your gun's nozzle. Our Multiple Height Gaskets option gives you more than one height to choose from, so you can get a tight seal on your exact gun.

Why gasket height matters

Every shot depends on that seal.

  • Too low: a gap between gasket and nozzle lets air escape. You get weak blowback, inconsistent FPS and wasted air.
  • Too tall: the gasket presses too hard against the nozzle and bolt. The extra drag can slow cycling and wear the seal faster.
  • Just right: a full seal with free movement, so all the air goes where it should.

Why one height can't fit everyone

Guns vary. Two receivers of the same model can sit at slightly different heights, clones differ from the guns they copy, and aftermarket nozzles and bolt carriers change the stack again. A single fixed gasket is a guess. Multiple heights let you match the gun in your hands.

Single gasket vs. multiple heights

Situation Single gasket Tapp Multiple Height Gaskets
Your gun's tolerances differ from spec One size, hope it matches Choose the height that seals
You upgrade the nozzle or bolt The seal may change Swap to a better-matched height
Air leaks at the nozzle Shim it or live with it Step up a size
Drag or slow cycling Modify it or live with it Step down a size

Finding your height

  1. Start with the gasket installed on your adapter.
  2. Weak blowback that PSI doesn't fix, or a hiss at the top of the adapter as you fire, points to a gasket that's too low.
  3. A bolt that drags or cycles sluggishly over the adapter points to a gasket that's too tall.
  4. Change one size at a time, then re-test and chrono.

Better together with the adjustable plunger

The plunger sets how much air each shot releases. The gasket makes sure that air reaches the nozzle. Tune the plunger for power and cycling, and the gasket for the seal.

How to get them

  • Building new: add Multiple Height Gaskets when you build an HPA adapter in the Adapter Builder.
  • HPA only: AEG adapters don't carry air, so they don't need them.
  • Replacements: Carbon Fiber Feedlips & Gasket sets are available for our HPA platforms, so a worn seal is a quick fix.
