TAPP HYBRID Lowers: GBB Recoil, AEG Mags, HPA Reliability

A TAPP HYBRID lower replaces the entire lower receiver, or grip frame, of your GBB. Your gun keeps its blowback recoil, runs on HPA, and feeds from AEG magazines that seat right in the lower.

Adapter or hybrid?

An HPA adapter replaces your gas magazine. A hybrid lower goes a step further and replaces the part of the gun that holds the magazine. That lets us:

  • Route the air line through the grip, out of the way, instead of from the mag well.
  • Reinforce the whole lower to take your gun's blowback, shot after shot.
  • Add features like a working bolt stop with EVO mags on select platforms.

EVO mags on the G5 and KC-02 lowers carry a BB follower that triggers the bolt stop when the mag runs empty, a reload feel most HPA setups can't give you. The MP5, ARP9, M4 and shell options don't have a bolt catch.

Built tough

  • Carbon fiber nylon. Each lower is SLS-printed in Nylon PA11 carbon fiber, far stronger than typical injection-molded plastic. We ran an AAP-01 frame over with a car to prove it.

Installing it

The G5 and MWS lowers come fully assembled when you add the fire control group option. Otherwise you move your FCG over, and an install pin is included. A hose template helps you drill the pistol grip to route the air line. The KC-02 lower takes your upper as-is, and the M4 version swaps in the included mag release and catch. Running it safely

  • Pressure: 120 PSI recommended, 150 PSI max.
  • Connect air with the bolt locked back. With the hammer down, connecting air opens the valve and fires the gun.
  • Protect your EVO mags. Don't trip the bolt catch on an empty magazine.
