The Tapp Shotgun Shell Adapter: Run Shotgun Shells in Your GBB
Share
The Tapp Shotgun Shell adapter lets your gas blowback run on HPA and feed from standard airsoft shotgun shells instead of a gas mag. It's the design that opened a new era for HPA adapters, and it's patented (US12292253B2).
Why shells?
- Compact. A shell is a fraction of the size of a stick mag, so the adapter sits short and stays out of your way.
- Fast to reload. Drop the empty, push in a fresh shell, keep shooting.
- Easy to carry. A pocket or a shell carrier holds plenty of reloads.
- Cheap to stock up. Standard airsoft shells are inexpensive and easy to find.
- Made for capped games. A shell holds around 30 BBs, a natural fit when a field limits mag capacity.
How it works
The shell locks into the adapter and feeds BBs to your gun's nozzle. Air comes from your HPA line through the adapter's valve, so your gun keeps its blowback and its steady, regulated power. No gas, no cooldown.
Which guns can run it
Shotgun Shell is a magazine option for almost every gun in our Adapter Builder, from Hi-Capas and Glocks to MP9s, AKs and GBB rifles. We also make the TAPP HYBRID AAP-01 Lower and the complete TAPP HYBRID AAP in a shotgun shell version.
Tips for shell shooters
- Keep shells clean. A shell should feed with good pressure all the way to its last BB.
- Store them unloaded to save their springs.
- Insert with the bolt or slide locked back, the same as any Tapp adapter.
- Tune and chrono. Set your regulator within the recommended range, then confirm your FPS.
Try it on your gun: Open the Adapter Builder, pick your platform and choose Shotgun Shell.
